Privacy Policy

Dog Age Calculator ("this site," "we," "us") is a free tool for estimating your dog's age in human years. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. In short: there isn't much to explain, because the calculator runs entirely in your browser.

Information we don't collect

You don't need an account to use this site, and we don't ask for your name, email, or any personal details to calculate a result. There are no ads on this site.

Your dog's photo

If you upload a photo to preview your result or generate a shareable image card, that photo is processed entirely on your own device using your browser's built-in tools. It is never uploaded to our servers or any third party, and we never see it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Google's "gtag.js") to understand how visitors use this site — things like which pages are viewed, how you found the site, and general device, browser, and approximate location (derived from IP address) information. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and may combine this data with information from other sites you visit, under Google's own privacy policy. We don't use it to identify you personally.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies and scripts from googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com in your browser settings.

Cookies and local storage

Beyond the analytics cookies described above, this site saves one small piece of information in your browser's local storage on its own: your light/dark theme preference, so the site remembers your choice on your next visit. That preference stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Server logs

Like virtually any website, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information for every visit — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — for security and reliability purposes. We don't use these logs to identify individual visitors or build profiles.

Third-party links

This site links out to external sources such as the AVMA and AAHA guidelines that our formula is based on. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review — we're not responsible for their practices.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
